Egg Hunt is Eggs-Cellent Free Fun
Happy Easter Holidays at Westfield Carindale
Westfield are getting good at setting up themed events for kids at holiday time, and this Easter is no exception. The free event this holiday season an Easter Egg Hunt, in a clever fantastical world of giant mushrooms and bunnies. Now before parents get worried about dragging children around the shops for the rest of the day, hyped up on chocolate, you should be aware that the clever Westfield staff have made the hunt for pretend eggs, not the chocolate kind. In fact, the only chocolate to be seen is in the form of a free voucher for each child at the end of the hunt. This is for a hot chocolate in one of the Centres' many Coffee Shops. A much healthier treat than a bunch of chocolate eggs and one that my kids really enjoyed. We chose to go to Coffee Hit where the hot chocolates came with marshmallows on the side - always a hit.
Children are given a basket and are instructed by the staff to look for the different coloured eggs in the secret hiding places amongst giant mushrooms, massive eggs and huge bunnies. There are two special eggs to be found at the end of the hunt which are traded in for a prize for the lucky finders. Only a certain number of children are allowed in at a time, which ensures that everyone is successful in their hunting. The whole activity takes about ten minutes and was a fun diversion for the littlies in a day of shopping.
Find the Easter Wonderland Behind the Travellators on Level One
The Easter Wonderland can be found behind the Concierge Desk on level one, next to the travellators. The entrance was a bit tricky to find, but if you follow the bunny foot prints and head towards the toilets you'll find it. The Easter Wonderland runs from the 7th to the 21st April and entry is free, but you may wish to consider making a gold coin donation to their Charity partner, Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus, who help children and adults suffering from these debilitating conditions. Opening times vary from day to day, so you may be best checking their Website before you make plans to visit.
