Do you want an eggs-cellent alternative to the Royal Easter Show and one that will not egg-stend your purse strings too far? I'll give you one. Easter Show in the Hills at Castle Hill Showground this Easter Saturday and Sunday. At just $15 per adult and $10 per child, you'll still have all of the trimmings found at the Royal event.
Side note: I am sorry for the egg-stremely corny Easter puns.
Gates open at 10 am (because let's face it, who wants to be up in -eggs-plicably early on a Saturday?) and there is a smorgasbord of activities to choose from to kick off the fun. The Show will be providing an interactive experience with baby animals with opportunities to pat the animals, brush them or even give them a cuddle from 10 am - 5 pm. There will also be pony rides for just $5! Talk about your instagrammable moments.
There will be face painting open all day. So, if you tire of your character, or you sweat off your face with egg-citement, you can just go back again.
Just like the royal event, you'll find showbags, food stalls and even sidewalk games, because who doesn't love an oversized teddy bear if only for a day? The show will also be running a major prize give away. Entrants just have to guess the number of eggs in the display of the Tiguan Volkswagon and the winner gets the car for the weekend plus one night's accommodation for a family of 4 at Fairmont Resort and Spa. Bonus, if you win, you keep the eggs! Eggs-traodrinary.
You may bump into some familiar faces at the showground. One such face will be the Easter Bunny who can maybe provide some helpful hints as to where all of the eggs are located for the Easter Egg Hunt held every 2.5 hours. Chocolate is guaranteed even if you miss out on the car full of eggs!
After you've successfully ingested the essence of Easter (chocolate) let your kids run wild and discover the rides. You'll find plenty of options for both adults and kids including the much loved and nostalgic Ferris wheel, merry-go-round, and dodgem cars. There's also a jumping castle to burn off excess energy. It may counteract that sugar high your kids are on. Maybe.
Finally, what's an Easter Show without some fireworks? I couldn't tell you, nor will you have to find out. Fireworks will be lighting up the sky at 8pm. After the fireworks simply bundle up your (hopefully) sleeping children, or round up your friends, and load them into your car because - THERE IS FREE PARKING! Forget the crowded buses or overpriced parking and enjoy the ease of bringing your own car.
With plenty on offer, get egg-cited for the Hills Easter Show!
