Sovereign Hill is known for having great school holidays activities. This Easter holidays, you can re-live history and discover the lost trades with a range of exclusive workshops. They'll run from 6 April to 22 April 2019.

There's work to be done as the blacksmith needs a new apprentice, animals need to be fed, and lollies to be made at Brown's Confectionery.

Become a candlemaker at Hewett's Candle Works and make your very own candle.

Make your own rope by using traditional methods and see if you can turn your rope into quoits.


Join Sovereign Hill's talented blacksmiths to try your hand at forging and you'll be taken through the basics of blacksmithing and learn the history of this trade.

Discover where photography comes from as the photographers give you an insight into how images were created and how cameras have evolved over time.

Get your uniforms ready as Brown's Confectionery Factory is hiring, where you can make your own butterscotch lollies.

Watch the talented wheelwrights machine and assemble the components of a wooden wheel. Try making your own spoke with hand-held tools.


Back in the 1800s, everything was made by hand. Craft your own belt using traditional methods at leather harness workshop.
