With school out over the Easter break, the cinema is a popular holiday outing and this Easter, there are a range of new releases sure to delight children, tweens and teenagers.
For the little ones,
Rio (2011) is sure to delight. Opening on April 7 2011, this animated feature is from director Carlos Saldanha, who co-directed
Ice Age (2002) and
Robots (2005) and directed
Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006) and
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009).
With an all-star voice cast including Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway, Rodrigo Santoro, Kate del Castillo, Jamie Foxx, Tracy Morgan, George Lopez, Leslie Mann, Jemaine Clement, Jane Lynch and Robin Thicke, this family feature is sure to be as popular as the other
Blue Sky Studios productions, such as the
Ice Age franchise and
Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who! (2008).
The next feature is sure to cause some hysteria amongst young girls;
Justin Bieber: Never Say Never 3D, opening on 7 April, 2011. Bieber will also be in Australia for his
My World tour from 26 April, 2011.
This documentary is composed of footage from his latest tour as well as rare home video. It has just been announced this feature will be re-released in the USA as
Never Say Never 2.0 - an expanded version of the documentary with new scenes.

Hop (2011), a live action/animated feature, opening on April 7, 2011
While
Arthur (2011), a remake of the classic 1981 comedy/romance, which starred Dudley Moore in the title role and the fantasy drama
The Tempest (2010), both open on 21 April, 2011. Both happen to star Brand alongside Helen Mirren!
There are four big Hollywood releases also opening in the month of April 2011.
Just Go With It (2011), is a comedy/romance, which opens on 7 April 2011 and stars Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston and Nicole Kidman.
The
Fast and the Furious franchise continues with the latest installment,
Fast Five (2011) starring Paul Walker, Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson. Opening on 21 April, 2011.
Paul, opening on April 11, 2011 is the latest project from Nick Frost and Simon Pegg. The sci-fi/adventure/comedy stars Frost, Pegg and also Seth Rogen. The feature is directed by Greg Mottola.

Scream 4 is unleashed in cinemas, 15 years after the original
Scream, released in 1996. Director Wes Craven returns, along with members of the original cast, including Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette
April 28, 2011 is when the Kenneth Branagh directed
Thor (2011) opens in cinemas. Starring Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins and Natalie Portman, this is one of the major blockbuster releases of the year.
Sucker Punch (2011), opening on 7 April 2011, is an action/fantasy from director Zack Snyder, starring Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish and Jena Malone. This is another big-budget release for 2011.
Opening on 14 April, 2011,
Brighton Rock (2011) is an anticipated release from British screenwriter/director Rowan Joffe. The drama is based on the 1938 novel by Graham Greene. The films stars Sam Riley, Helen Mirren, John Hurt and Andy Serkis.
