Would you believe next week we will be nearly HALF way through Term 1 at school! Yes, parents, it's a very short term of only 8 weeks this term which means school holidays will be upon you before you can say 'but I haven't planned anything!'

Easter falls on the first weekend of the school holidays this year with Good Friday on 25 March and Easter Sunday falling on 27 March. Here I have compiled a trusty list of last minute things to do around the Brisbane region to keep the little ones entertained (in like 4 weeks time!)

Check out the fantastic White Hills Reserve playground in Camp Hill. A truly magnificent park that suits all ages, levels and abilities. It is fully fenced and has some great scooter pathways also. You can spend a good part of the day here - so pack lunch, a picnic blanket and meet a group of friends for a fun day out.

Hire a jumping castle in your backyard or at the local park? You could get a few friends together to split the cost, and everyone bring a plate of yummies. The kids will be completely entertained (and exhuasted) and you can relax and watch them go for it! Jumpin' Around has some fantastic Easter Specials on so check them out!

There are some fabulous mini-walks at Mt Cootha (good for little feet and legs) and great picnic-ing spots you can set up for the rest of the afternoon. Try Simpson Falls - easy parking, has fire pits you can use and a good distance walk for the little one's.

Spend a day at the Gold Coast Spit. We bring the family here often, a great peninsula where you can set up a camp / picnic spot for the day under the shade of the trees, with wonderfully clear waters lapping at your feet. Dog friendly too!

The last idea is a bit of a drive, but if you manage to book a camp site or even a cabin for the holidays at Rainbow Beach, there is the spectacular Sand Blow and rainforest walk to do. Completely amazing naturally occuring, the sand is golden and is high up on the peak of the hill above Rainbow Beach. A must do!!
