Celebrate in the city this Easter with something for everyone, from high teas and chocolate buffets to cooking classes for kids and cartoon characters come to life.

Easter Egg Decorating at Thyme˛

Children are invited to decorate their own Easter egg under the guidance of Thyme˛'s pastry chefs at the Sofitel Hotel (249 Turbot Street). Easter egg decorating will take place at Thyme˛ on Saturday, March 30 from 2:30pm until 3:30pm. Cost is $49 per child which includes petite sandwiches, fresh fruit, and hot chocolate. Children must be between six and twelve years old to partake and parents must remain in the hotel. Bookings are essential.

Junior Culinary School at Vintaged Bar and Grill

Mini master chefs can create their own high tea at the Hilton Hotel's (190 Elizabeth Street) Junior Culinary School. Vintaged's chefs will teach participants how to create high tea classics like cupcakes, scones, tartlets, and finger sandwiches. Classes take place from 12:30pm to 3pm on the following Saturdays: March 30, April 6, and April 13. It is recommended that children are between five and ten years old. Cost is $55 per child. Book now to reserve a spot for your budding baker.

Easter High Tea at Vintaged Bar and Grill

Join family and friends for a special high tea at Vintaged Bar and Grill on Easter Sunday, March 31. Enjoy homemade scones, savoury delights, and Easter inspired treats like hot cross buns and chocolate eggs. Prices start at $35. Bookings are available between 11am and 4pm.

Mad Hatter's High Tea at Stamford Plaza

Indulge this Easter at the Stamford Plaza's (corner of Margaret and Edward Streets) Mad Hatter High Tea, a whimsical twist on their traditional high tea. From March 20 until April 14, the hotel's lobby will be transformed into a wonderland. Enjoy Easter treats such as 'eat me' cupcakes, white chocolate rabbits, and queen of hearts jam tarts while sipping bubbly, pink lemonade, or fine tea. Cost is $45 per adult and $30 per child.

Easter Chocolate Buffet at Stamford Plaza

Chocoholics may prefer the Easter weekend chocolate high tea buffet beside the Brisbane River. From 3pm to 5pm on Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31, guests can nibble on finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones, handmade petit fours, chocolate, and more chocolate. Cost is $49 per adult and $25 per child. Reservations are essential for all Easter events at the Stamford.

Easter Family Meal Deal at Motion Bar and Grill

Celebrate with loved ones at the Marriott Hotel's (515 Queen Street) Motion Bar and Grill. Enjoy a delicious family meal on the M Deck with views of the Story Bridge. The Easter meal deal costs $35 and includes two homemade wagyu beef lasagnes with salads for the grown-ups and one thin crusted pizza with four toppings of your choice for the children to share. A jug of soft drink is also included. Reservations are recommended. The meal deal is available for lunch and dinner from Friday, March 30 to Monday, April 1.

Eggventures in the City

Meet Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob SquarePants at the Queen Street Mall during the Easter holidays. Watch Dora perform in Dora's Ballet Adventure from Thursday, April 4 to Monday, April 8, or see Stories from Bikini Bottom with SpongeBob SquarePants from Friday, April 12 to Sunday, April 14. Show times are 11am and 1pm daily followed by meet and greets with Nickelodeon's cuddly cartoon characters at 12pm and 2pm daily. Get your face painted on show days for free from 10:30am until 2:30pm.
