On Saturday 28th March Frew Park at Milton will be hosting an Easter Extravaganza complete with special visit by the Easter Bunny and Alice in Wonderland. This is one of many events sponsored by local councillor Peter Matic.
The event starts at 4pm when the days are cooler but even if it's still warm there are plenty of shelters with covers and lots of shady area under trees along one side of the park. There will be plenty of active things to do. In addition to the wonderful play space with slides and climbing nets and places to hide and throw basketball hoops, there will also be a free rock climbing and bungee wall and bouncy castle. Other draw cards include face painting, ice cream, petting zoo and rainbow pony rides.
At the opening event in November there was a similar event and children of all ages had a great time. While the main play area is targeted at children aged 10-15 the park and this event will offer activities for younger children as well. Why not bring a ball or frisbee or book one of the tennis courts for a game.

For parents there will be the joy of having your children entertained by someone else plus some live music by Kate Street Mob Jazz Big Band. There is also an on-site coffee shop with cakes and nibbles that also sells tennis equipment.

When the sun has gone down the big screen will go up and the blockbuster movie How To Train Your Dragon 2 will be shown from 6.30pm. So make sure you bring a chair or picnic table and settle in for the evening. The Bardon Lions Club will be running a Sausage sizzle for just the price of a gold coin donation.
