If you decide to avoid the hordes of people flocking to crowded holiday destinations this Easter, there are many events on offer. Gallery One has an inspiring selection of art on display, in an Easter themed exhibition.

life@death is a developing Easter art event. The theme in 2014 is Letting Go.

The exhibition runs from March 25th to April 25th, Tuesday - Friday from 10am - 4:00 pm (closed during school holidays). There are special Sunday openings April 13 and Easter Sunday April 20 and a guided tour April 13. Bookings are essential. On Thursday April 17 at 7.00 pm, Maundy Thursday service will be held in the exhibition space.

The (Rev.) Dieter Engler (Mitcham Village Uniting Church) describes art as having often shone a visual light on those areas of our culture that we are uncomfortable to look into. To be open to art then is to open oneself to aspects of the world otherwise hidden.

This exhibition showcases& #8232 ; 30 artists and over 40 works. The exhibition was opened on Friday 21st of March at 6.00pm by Dr George Couvalis, Flinders University, Lecturer at School of Humanities and Creative Arts, Department of Philosophy.

Some of the exhibiting artists are Lauren Arnott, Andrew Barr, and Gemma Brook. Further artists listed on the Gallery One website .

Gallery One is an independent arts initiative located within the Mitcham Cultural Village, promoting and showcasing excellence in the local art and crafts community. One of the longest running organisations of its kind in Australia, Gallery One has evolved over a span of 40 years into an education facility with a robust exhibition program and retail outlet.

The folk at Gallery One besides having a love of the creative are also happy. Check them out in this clip:
