Mmmm...chocolate! It looks good, doesn't it? Easter is on its way - what do you have planned for the Easter long weekend (besides eating Easter eggs)? If you are looking for things to do for Easter with the kids, or perhaps just interested in "what's on" over the long weekend, then keep reading for some ideas. Make sure you leave some room for these tasty events...

EASTER EVENTS

Good Friday Seafood Feasts will be happening across the city - see here for details!

An Easter Saturday Chocolate Brunch will be held at Hotel Kurrajong with a chocolate cocktail on arrival, chocolate crepes, brownies, doughnuts, Nutella finger sandwiches and Mellabella chocolate gelato. Kids will love exploring their courtyard looking for easter eggs! Tickets cost $99 adult and $69 for children, 12 years and under. See here for details.

Easter High Tea at QT Canberra will be held on Easter Sunday at Capitol Bar & Grill restaurant. There will be Sonoma hot cross buns, chocolate eggs and a mini High Tea for the little ones. Book at 1pm, 1:30pm, 2pm, 2:30pm or 3pm. (Easter Egg Hunt sessions on the QT Deck will be at 2pm and 4pm, subject to weather). Tickets cost $80 for adults and $50 for children aged 12 and under (which includes the Easter Egg Hunt). See here for details.

The Canberra & Region Heritage Festival will be held between 9th April and 1st May. Over the Easter long weekend they will be hosting a wide range of activities , including an Easter Egg Hunt in the courtyard of the Mercure Hotel in Braddon. This event is designed for children aged 2 - 6 and there will be prizes for the best-dressed egg hunters. The event will begin at 9am, at a cost of $10 per child. See here for details.

Rodney's Plants Plus in Pialligo will be hosting their annual Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday at 9:45am. Register online for this event and it costs a gold coin donation to the Salvos Flood Appeal, for people affected by floods in Qld and NSW. There will also be live music on Easter Saturday, Sunday and Monday and face painting Easter Saturday and Sunday. (My daughter participated in this two years in a row and loved it!) WHAT'S ON

Corin Forest will be opening for 1 hour Snow Play sessions starting on the Easter Long Weekend. Book in early to secure your spot and ensure you stay for a wood-fired pizza to warm you up afterwards! The cost is $20 per person, with free toboggan hire. The National Arboretum will be having Family Orientation at a cost of $5 per family. Pick up your map and clue sheet from the Village Centre and explore the property to discover one of their colourful forests. See here for details.

Tuff Nutterz giant inflatable obstacle course will be in Canberra between 9th and 25th April! It will be set up in the Parliamentary Triangle and will have 30 fun and challenging obstacles to complete, including huge slides, climbing walls, hanging rails, balance balls and more! The cost is $30 per person, for 1 hour and 45 minutes. See here for details.

The National Folk Festival is a festival held over the Easter long weekend each year. Between 14th - 18th April there will be live music, storytelling, busking, choirs, art installations, markets, kids entertainment, workshops and much more! See performers such as Archie Roach, Kate Cebrano, Justine Clarke, Yothu Yindi and more! Get tickets for one day, or the whole festival. Children under 12 are free with a ticketed adult.
