This is an event that is suitable for the whole family and celebrates the heritage of the Town of East Fremantle.



At this huge event, there will be two stages which will have live entertainment and there will also be roving street entertainment. Also on offer will be the following:

  • Food from around the world and in particular, from Italy
  • Free kids entertainment in Glasson Park
  • Many market stalls



  • On the Sewell Street stage, which is located on the corner of George and Sewell Streets, there will be local Fremantle acts as well as other terrific performers!

    On the Duke Street stage, which is located on George Street near the corner of Duke Street, there will be more local Fremantle talented performers and also some from around Perth.

    There will be buskers as well as the roving entertainers and these will be on George Street and feature people like the Black Nonnas, the Osmosis Street Band, as well as others who will be there to entertain you during the afternoon.

    [b]THE FOOD**
    As well as all the entertainment, you will also be able to buy gourmet food from the following areas:

  • Italy
  • Asia
  • France
  • Spain
  • Argentina
  • South America
  • Germany
  • Turkey
  • Malaysia
  • Japan
  • And more



  • The food will be at either end of George Street, as well as the George Street cafes and restaurants.

    [b]FOR THE CHILDREN**
    This festival will have so much to do for children and will include:

  • Free activities in Glasson Park
  • Plaster painting
  • Face painting
  • Giant games
  • Inflatable amusements
  • Pop up performers of slapstick comedy
  • Incredible Creatures
  • Mr Red and Mr Sharp stilt walkers
  • Suitcase Circus circus skills workshops
  • Ricochet Circus Family Circus show
  • Kidsmusicfun workshops

  • The Suitcase Circus mini-top will be overflowing with lively circus games for everyone to enjoy at this year's East Fremantle Festival! It will feature festival kids as stars of the show and balls will be popping out of the suitcase and diabolos flying high in the air, top-notch juggling, as well as a team of "plate spinners" from the audience, a brave circus stilt-walker and a great deal of ukulele unicycle confusion!



    Performing for the family will be Mr Red and Mr Sharp who will be performing outrageous physical comedy, dancing and amazing juggling tricks on George Street, all on stilts!



    [b]MARKETS**
    Once again, this festival will feature the George Street Artisan Market with locally hand-made articles.



    You will be able to shop for Christmas presents as well as some great ideas for yourself and family, and you will find some unique gifts at these market stalls.



    As the Town of East Fremantle is a "fair trade" town, there will be a Fair Trade Corner again this year organised by the Fremantle Fair Trade Collective.



    Some of the festival stalls will be promoting local businesses and group from the area and there will be things to buy here also. And if this is not enough, there will also be the George Street establishments who will open and even sell from the pavements.



    For top wines, you can go to the always popular Young George at 48 George Street, as they will again be sampling some of Australia's top wines and other beverages.

    [b]PROGRAMME OF EVENTS**
    [b]SEWELL STREET STAGE[/b]
    1:00 pm: The ukulele band, Acid Tea will be playing their ukeleles and this will be a fun Event!

    1:45 pm: The local act, the Charisma Brothers will be performing some jazz tunes

    2:45 pm: You will be entertained by The Italian Trio performing Italian tunes and this group have recently returned from a tour of Italy

    4:15 pm: Commedia Academy will perform an old Italian fable called II Frutto Magico - for this they will be using masks, folk music, puppets and some classical and outrageous props

    5:30 pm: Dilip n The Davs, Fremantle's Rhythm Kings will wind up the Festival for another year

    [b]DUKE STREET STAGE**
    1:00 pm: Nikki Dagostino will perform some Italian tunes - Nikki is Australia's youngest fashionable and entertaining female Accordionist

    2:30 pm: The local band, Acid Tea will be performing their non-traditional ukulele music

    3:30 pm: Meet the "stars of the future from Penny Lanes Music School". These children are able to perform an impressive collection of tunes from our "contemporary and historical musical repertoire"

    4:45 pm: The Galloping Foxleys are a mixture of folk, rock and pop, featuring "tawny guitars" as well as a violin and mandolin

    5:45 pm: The Echoes of Italy, with Eddie and Roberto playing the accordion and featuring an Italian voice performing a repertoire of popular Italian songs

    This is a community festival and is presented by the Town of East Fremantle, with its major sponsor being LOTTERYWEST and the minor sponsor being the Fremantle Herald.

    It is another Event organised by Heart Inspired Events.
