When steaming your vegetable always make sure you cook more than necessary, once you have removed your adults portions steam the remaining vegetable until very soft.
Place them in a bowl to cool and purée them together or in individual vegetable batches. You can add meat or fish stocks to them or small amounts of steamed rice, pasta, milk formula or ricotta cheese, freeze in individual batches until required.
Potato is stodgy and often babies will gag on the texture, this is easily overcome by introducing small amounts of potato into other vegetable combinations and gradually increasing the potato amount each time you create a new batch.
Fresh fruit, simply mash very ripe bananas with a fork or grate very ripe pears, add some mashed berries to these if desired. Always dilute fresh fruit juice when giving it and never give more than once a day when introducing.
Beware - babies prefer the taste of fresh food and will often refuse to eat manufactured food once they have been introduced to the real thing.
