A day to be globally united. That's the 30th of March 2019 from 8.30pm to 9.30pm local time. Join the largest global movement for the environment and make nature matter! This Earth Hour #connect2earth and Sign up to switch off, wherever you are on the planet! Climate changes is a big challenge for us all, however, the loss of nature is even more urgent and demands our attention. The two combined means we must act NOW! We do not want to wait till crisis point when we can no longer look at our lush greenery or waterways.

Earth Hour started as a symbolic lights out event in Sydney in 2007 and has grown to become the world's largest grassroots movement for the environment, inspiring individuals, communities, businesses and organisations in more than 180 countries and territories to take action for our shared home. Together, we can make it all happen. There is strength in numbers. Protecting our planet, our home, starts with each of us; every action counts. If not you, WHO? Join and make this the largest Earth Hour movement ever!

Nature's provision of the air we breathe, the water we drink and all that we need to live is under threat due to a growing loss. Over 10 years, people around the world are coming together every Earth Hour to support efforts to tackle climate change. Will you come on board and be part of the solution? Join the powerful movement that has helped deliver strong global commitments to tackling this threat. Stay updated via the event page discussion section on Facebook, or the website.

Why not use the brand new frame to update your Facebook profile or cover pic here and start the conversation by bringing awareness to the rest of the community. Let Earth Hour on Facebook know how you plan to #Connect2Earth. Find a fun way to be part of the movement for the hour by hosting a zero-waste meal or start a plastic-free squad? Dinner by candlelight? There are so many ways to make it an occasion of hope and inspiration; a feel-good moment of giving back to our planet, and aspiring to make changes and lifetime commitments to live simpler and leave a smaller footprint on Earth. Speak up about why nature matters to you by using #Connect2Earth

The fight for our planet's future is on! Australia is home to some of the world's most iconic and breathtaking natural landscapes and wildlife. We may be at the other end of the world, but we are of the same world facing massive threats to our biodiversity due to climate change. There are events across Australia, or you might want to start one of your own. Schools and businesses can get involved too. Choose your climate future and work out what Australia needs to do to live in this world.

Why not find out more with doctor google and have a full awareness of the chain of events that lead to the depletion of our resources and be a part of the solution. WWF (The World Wide Fund for Nature formerly known as World Wildlife Fund) is also a great site to get educated and build a future where we live in harmony with nature. There's a lot of material online that's helpful in regard to recycling and reducing the use of plastics, including in our diet and so on.

You've got a head start, so run with it and find ways you can remove single-use items from your life and change to eco-friendly alternatives for things you use every day. If you have a really great website to share that addresses how each and every one of us can help environmental and sustainability issues with helpful tips, feel free to post it in comments below and share your knowledge with the world.
