Make your tummy happy with organic and locally sourced food
Attached to the Dad's Organic Market on 8th Street, Earth Bound Bakery and Delicatessen is a delightful bakery and restaurant. Owner and baker Trent Loewen uses organic ingredients and locally sourced foods in his baking and restaurant menu items.
The restaurant and bakery are open Tuesday to Saturday. There is a selection of fresh breads and baked goods daily. A decent selection of coffee and teas awaits visitors. The menu has soups, salads, and sandwiches. It is a small menu, but there is certainly enough choice for a filling and tasty lunch. Soup selections change daily. Vegans are welcome. The use of quality and organic ingredients is reflected in the price.
The seating area is small and fills up fast. It is definitely not a lunch and linger type of place. Take out is available.

On my visit to the bakery, I had the Hungarian salami sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and pickled hot peppers on the hemp and sesame bread. The sandwich was delicious. The peppers added a nice kick without being overpowering. It was fresh tasting and filling. One of the soups on offer that day was a tomato, fennel, and quinoa creation. It was tasty and the flavours were complementary.
Earth Bound Bakery and Delicatessen provides a quick and filling lunch made with fresh ingredients and helps to support local food producers. Recommended for those who care about the quality of their food and where it comes from.
