The history of
The Eagle Street area is not just a culinary treasure – it has enjoyed a rich history for more than 150 years. The pier has served a very important role in Brisbane's marine history. It used to be a gateway where all foreign ships would dock, owing to the wharves created over time along the pier.
Eventually the wharves were earmarked to be used for public parking and, shortly after, were demolished to form the pier and surrounds we see today.
