Nestled in the rolling green hills above Eagle Bay is arguably the most picturesque brewery in the South West. Eagle Bay Brewing Co. started life as a family farm but has gained national success since becoming a gourmet food and drink destination in 2011.

The entrance to the brewery is decidedly understated with nothing but a large white building and a few shrubs greeting you from the car park. Once you're inside it's a completely different story.

The interior of the restaurant is immaculate yet maintains that casual country vibe the breweries have become famous for. You probably wont spend too much time critiquing the interior though as you wont be able to draw your eyes from the stunning views outside the brewery.

Eagle Bays original farm still operates in the foreground with lush green grass merging into densely forested hills in the background. Right out on the horizon you can even see the Indian Ocean - it's a truly spectacular sight at any time of day.

What brings you here though is the beer. has five permanent beers as well as an ever changing single batch special. Recently they tuned their regular brown ale with Cacao Beans. They only brew these once, and it's only available at the brewery until it runs out.

There's no better accompaniment for good beer than good food, and this is where Eagle Bay really sets itself apart. They really do have a fine team of chefs who in my opinion make the best food out of any brewery in the South West. Prices aren't too over the top either. A burger at Eagle Bay costs $22 while large pizzas are between $15-$20

The servings are huge, the ingredients are local and the service is generally pretty quick. I had the beef burger last time and it certainly lived up to expectations. Bacon with the fat still on, mature cheddar, beetroot and the perfect amount of tomato relish. The sourdough bun did not go soggy and you get a heap of fries to finish it off!

Eagle Bays beers have recently been added to line ups around Perth including Print Hall and Grill'd (Mt. Lawley, Scarborough, Joondalup). You can buy their beer as well as oils and wines made by neighbouring businesses from their on site store as well.

Top this all off with friendly, knowledgeable staff and it is very, very hard to find fault in Eagle Bay Breweries operations. There's beer and wine for all tastes, food for even the toughest critic and views that just can't be ignored.
