Dylan Jones is an exciting young artist who has been exhibiting in Brisbane for a while. I first came across him painting "en plain air" as they say, and we struck up a conversation.

His art has evolved in the years I have known him and this to me is his most exciting work. The exhibition is on from the 6th to the 30th of March at Jan Manton Gallery in Spring Hill. Go along and admire Dylan's new work on the human form which is called "Stripped Back".

Dylan has had solo exhibitions from 2015 - 2018 and has participated in four group exhibitions. He has been a finalist for the Mosman Art Prize in 2018 and a number of other art events.

Go along to the Opening night on Friday the 8th from 6-8pm.

The invitation states: "In this exhibition of new paintings, Jones depicts the nude human form as a vehicle to express his ongoing obsession with the textural qualities of paint. Painted from life, these works reconsider the formal qualities of the human body, rather than revealing an intimate or emotional interaction with the sitter."

On Saturday 23rd March at 2pm, Dylan Jones will be in the Gallery to discuss his recent work. If you can't make the opening, this is a good opportunity to meet the artist and ask him any questions about his work.

The Gallery is open Saturday 10 am to 4pm or by appointment during the week.
