Five fun films out on DVD in Feb
Gone Girl
Released- February 4th
Starring- Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Neil Partrick Thomas
In a nutshell- When his wife suddenly disappears, Nick Dunne becomes the primary suspect as the case is turned into a media sensation.
Why we're excited- Having been adapted from the best-selling novel by Gillian Flynn, this movie looks to be an intense thriller filled with twists and turns making the ending truly unpredictable. While the story appears to be the standard 'did he or didn't he?' line, its hopefully a new spin on an old question.

The Hundred-Foot Journey
Released-February 4th
Starring- Helen Mirren, Manish Dayal, Om Puri
In a nutshell- An Indian family moves to France and opens a restaurant across the street from a Michelin-starred traditional French establishment.
Why we're excited- This movie looks like it will be a war between traditional Indian food and the refined French cuisine. However will both parties have something they can learn from the other? Either way the food is sure to be tantalizing as this collision of cultures proves to be uniquely entertaining.

Released- February 11th
Starring- Annabelle Wallis, Ward Horton
In a nutshell- After a couple's home is invaded by satanic cultists they begin to experience terrifying paranormal events that seem to be connected to a vintage doll.
Why we're excited- Creepy dolls have long been the subject of horror films but this movie looks like it promises something different- to be truly chilling. As the sort of spin off of The Conjuring, this movie is also based on real events (I use the term 'real events' loosely) which is sure to only add to the suspense and send the creep factor off the scales.

The Judge
Released- Fenruary 11th
Starring- Robert Downey Jr, Robert Duvall, Billy Bob Thornton
In a nutshell- Hank Palmer returns to his hometown where his father, a judge, is suspected of murder. Being a big city lawyer, Hank takes on this father's case to discover the truth and reconnect with his estranged family.
Why we're excited- It has been a while since we've seen Robert Downy Jr in a serious legal drama but I think that's part of the appeal of this movie. He steps away from his Iron Man suit in the Marvel mega franchise to prove he's still got what it takes to give a compelling performance and bring intrigue to a story that will keep the audience engaged and wanting to uncover the truth.

Released-February 25th
Starring- Melissa McCarthy, Susan Sarandon, Kathy Bates
In a nutshell- A woman hits the road with her alcoholic grandmother after she loses her job and discovers her husband is a cheater.
Why we're excited- Well, after seeing the box office returns for this movie I don't know if using the word 'excited' would be correct. Perhaps it wold be more accurate to say 'interested'. Anyway in her last two films McCarthy delivered performances that perfectly blended good comedy and great action. Let's hope she can do it again for Tammy.
