Fri 25 Apr 2014 - Sun 27 Apr 2014

Dutch TV will be screening every week on the Big Screen at Fed Sq from 29 April 2014 @10 am!

There will also be a Dutch TV Stall on the 27th of April 2014, as part of the 2014 Dutch Orange Festival Weekend festivities.

The first screening (Tue 29 April 2014 ) will be the abdication of then 75 year old Queen Beatrix last year on 30 April 2013 after a 33 year reign, making her son Crown Prince Willem-Alexander the Netherland's first King to be inaugurated since 1890. There will also be screenings of other Queen's Day events and parties.

Please check on the Federation Square website each week for screening times of Dutch TV, as the times may change from week to week.

The name Carole Overmaat is synonymous with Dutch TV.

In the beginning, almost single handedly she worked tirelessly getting Dutch TV off the ground. As a testament to all her hard work; raising awareness, sourcing sponsors, running fund raising events, having a presence at the Dutch Orange Festivals and Holland Festivals at Sandown Park, and so on, today, Dutch TV has sponsors, memberships, crew, volunteers and no less, her own family involved and working together with Carole to produce the human interest stories of Dutch people living in Australia. Read more about Dutch TV and Carole on their website.

Dutch TV is aired weekly on Channel 31 and can be received via a set top box or digital TV on Channel 44. The program is mostly in Dutch, but does have English subtitles.

The program airs at 10pm on Sundays and 2.30pm on Thursdays.

Check out Dutch TV's website to stay abreast of its current events, and you can become a member for $10 a year and get emails of current programs sent directly to you.

Dutch TV will have a Stall at the upcoming Dutch Orange Day to celebrate the very first King's Day (Koningsdag) on the 27th of April 2014 at Queensbridge Square, Southbank from 10.30am to 4pm (see image above) .

Do get down there, meet Carole, and find out more about her programs. Shes happy to chat with everybody who is interested in Dutch culture or have human interest stories to share, with a Dutch link in Australia.

Other Dutch Orange Day Celebrations over the weekend of Friday 25th to Sunday 27th April 2014 are as per image below i.e. Oranjefeest on Friday 25th April. There will be a free Bavaria on arrival, music and drinks at the Ormond Hall from 8pm to 1am, and an Orange Dress Code and entry will be $12.50 per person

The Erasmus Foundation will also be presenting a Dutch film at the ACMI on the 27th April 2014 at 3.30 pm called DAGLICHT (Daylight). Tickets can be bought directly from ACMI and are $14 for full price and $11 for concession.

Have a wonderful Dutch Orange Day weekend and show your support for Dutch TV.
