The most spooktacular time of the year will soon be upon us, and once again, dusk stores have released their latest range of gorgeous candles, candle accessories and homewares to celebrate the season.


Every year, I love decorating my home for Halloween. And every year, I love going to dusk to see their new spooky collection. From about September each year, many shops begin to sell Halloween (and Christmas!) decorations. Many Halloween decorations tend to be of the tacky, cheap, plastic sort (which, I have to admit, I actually do buy, except for the zombie-themed decorations because I'm just not into the walking dead!) but dusk stores offer Halloween decorations that are just that much more elegant and fragrant for the home-and thankfully, there's not one zombie in sight.

This year the novelty skulls have returned, including LEDs, tealights, tealight candle holders (such as the Princess Buffy white skull tealight holder and Princess Endora black skull tealight holder shown below, each priced at $34.99), and dusk's iconic bleeding skull candles which spill red wax (blood) over their sides after you light their wicks. Prices range from $19.99 for glitter skull tealights to $49 for the Lucifer White LED skull. dusk is also currently offering a 2 for $40 special on selected skulls.



But it's not just about skulls at dusk this Halloween. For the first time, unicorns have made their appearance, such as this beautiful large sparkle unicorn candle, selling for $24.99 (or 2 for $40).


For a more whimsical, cute touch to your Halloween decorating, dusk has 'Boo and Bob' ghost LEDs with multi colour changing lights; a Harry Potterish-type Snow White owl candle; a Haunted House tealight holder with sparkling glitter roof, a Good Witch candle, and Tabitha bat cat oil burner.


However, Halloween is really not Halloween without the Jack O Lantern pumpkin. And dusk has a collection of quirky pumpkin tealight holders to suit your personality, such as the classic orange Jack O Lantern, the Morticia pink and gold pumpkin tealight holder, and the Sabrina purple and gold pumpkin tealight holder. Prices for pumpkins range from $29.99 to $39.99.


And of course, there are the candles with a Halloween flavour, including the bleeding pillar candle and bleeding taper candle, and the deliciously scented pumpkin crumble wick candle and scented evil apple wick candle. These candles range in price from $7.99 for a pack of 2 bleeding taper candles, to $29.99 for the evil apple wick candle.


So this Halloween, why not abandon the tacky zombie decorations and instead, head to your nearest dusk store for something that's just a lot more magical, whimsical, and mystical, and that'll make your home smell spooktacularly delicious!
