"Put on your dancing shoes,
And dance away your blues…."
The lyrics of Cliff Richard say it all!
Whether you hear the music, or whether you are simply hearing it in your head, dancing is best described as the vertical way to enjoy what may be your horizontal dream.
You may think I jest, though whether you are dancing a slow waltz, sexy salsa, or swaying to the swing, seemingly floating across the floor is one of the best pleasures you can have on your feet.
"Dancers are able to have a personalised fitting from my home. I have developed a large group of devoted ladies who have compared Durrant Dance Shoes with other brands and keep coming back," says Doreen proudly.
"A business doesn't last unless the product is great quality, comfortable and affordable. I attend Dance weekends around the state, and other functions taking the Durrant Dance Shoes current range, I find it's a great way to expose dancers to different styles of shoes.
"We have seen suppliers come and go but Yvonne, who is the director of Durrant Dance, also designs shoes, so we have lots of unique styles. For instance, with the heat in Queensland, a lot of ladies' ankles swell. She has designed a style that has the strap over the arch of the foot, rather than the ankle. Bunions are not a problem either as we cater for wider fittings. You have to check for arch support, double padding, leather lining and stitching on the straps. I am a dancer and well know the importance of comfort!
