Oh real Christmas Tree, how I need thee
Is your Christmas Tree up yet? If not, then you need to head out to Dural and pick up a real and perfectly formed tree at the Dural Christmas Tree Farm.

Forget the plastic tree that has been shoved in the back of the garage since last year, you need the real deal. There is nothing better then the look and the smell of a real tree. Load the family into the car and head out to Dural to select your fabulous Christmas Tree and who knows, you may even run into Santa or a reindeer or two! The farm does have real reindeer - so make sure you take your camera.

When you arrive you can either choose from trees that have been freshly cut that morning, that are in the shed waiting to be decorated or you can go for a wander out into the paddock to select your very own tree. Tree sizes range from 5ft right up to the mother of all trees at 14ft! A 5ft tree will cost you $68.00, a 8ft tree will cost you $145.00 and if you want anything bigger it is POA.

A netted tree makes for easy transportation

After you have selected your tree, you pay in the shed and choose if you want your tree netted ($5.00) - which allows for easier transportation, and if you need a stand to place your beautiful tree in they have 3 different sizes available depending on the size of your tree (the stands cost from $44.00). There is also a Christmas store full of decorations and other bits and bobs to make your home as festive as possible.

Once you get home you need to trim off 2cm from the bottom of the tree and place it into fresh water. You are given an instruction sheet when you purchase your tree that tells you how to keep your tree looking and smelling beautiful for at least 4 weeks - make sure you follow these instructions as you will find that your tree is very thirsty indeed.

Your fresh tree will need watering once or twice a day

Decorate and enjoy the smell, look and feel of your amazing fresh Christmas Tree. You won't regret the journey out to Dural to pick you own - there is nothing like the smell of a real tree to put you in the festive spirit.

Your house will smell divine for weeks to come

If Dural is a bit far for you city slickers to drive to then never fear, you can order a tree online and they will deliver a fresh tree to you. They can also install it and they even offer a recycling service once the festive season is finished. Alternately pop down to the Eveleigh Farmers Market on Saturday 7 and 14 to pick your own. The Dural Christmas Tree Farm is open until 23 December.

Your Comment
Most places where you go to get a tree probably don't provide all the instructions on how to look after it, so this place sounds really handy.
