More than just dumplings
There are all sorts of dumpling restaurants from various parts of Asia and each have their speciality.

At Baulkham Hills, you can find Dumplings Taipei at 1/2 Old Northern Rd, Baulkham Hills. Taiwanese cuisine is slightly different although you will notice a lot of the more popular Asian dishes, with slight variations, here too.

Dumplings Taipei went through a recent expansion, taking over the place next door. This means that there is more seating and the atmosphere and decor is nice. We noticed a lot of tables had been reserved for dinner so it appears to be really popular. We saw families, couples and people ordering take away as well.

There is an extremely wide range of dishes available from the more traditional to the 'new'. For example, the menu had things like Salt and Pepper Heart Strings

Vegetarian Buns

These were quite large and filled with vegetables so quite filling and 'felt' healthy.

Vegetarian fried rice

We were nearly fooled by the 'meat' in the dish and had to check that it was actually vegetarian meat. It tasted as good as regular fried rice.

Spring onion pancakes

These are a favourite and they do it really well here because they get the outside crispy but the inside soft.

These are so tasty that they tend to be gone before you can blink.

These were OK. I wish they were more pan fried. I did eye the wontons in spicy sauce on the menu so would like to give them a go next time.

From previous trips, the 'meat pies' (large, beef-filled fried dumplings) and wonton soup are winners. We haven't seen meat pies like these anywhere else. You just don't want to stop eating them. The bases of these dumplings are so thick and crispy, and they are paired with the softer top and the tasty beef.

The prices were reasonable. We found that the staff were friendly and service was quick. It's also good to support what appears to be a family-run business. Definitely worth a try.
