Located across the road from 30 Acres Restaurant at Norwood, Dumpling Centre is where you can enjoy a good range of Chinese cuisine. Most of our dishes were brought to us by a robot waiter, something we have not seen at the restaurants we have visited at Adelaide.

Many of their main dishes can be ordered as a main-sized dish or a smaller portion accompanied with a serving of rice. Their Dry Chilli Chicken had succulent flesh set off by a crisp coating. Peanuts provided extra crunch to the dish. Be warned however that the dish packs a potent spicy punch. The rice that we chose to come with the dish was topped with a bit of soy sauce for extra flavour.

Offered as a special during our visit, the duck in the Duck with Taro in Hot Pot was juicy and the flesh was not hard to eat off the bones. The sauce that the duck was cooked in complemented it nicely, and a contrast of texture was provided by the chunks of taro and cabbage. Eating the dish slowly is advised as it was served steaming hot.

The Fried Chinese Broccoli with Garlic Sauce had a vibrant green colour and the vegetable still retained a bit of bite. Enough sauce was used to ensure that the dish was not dry, and sufficient garlic was used to make the dish deserving of its name.

The texture of the Chicken Sweet Corn Soup was not too thick. It had a savoury taste with a hint of sweetness. We liked that the chunks of chicken were of a fair size to give the dish extra texture. The soup is served steaming hot so drinking it slowly is advised to avoid burning yourself.

The decor of the restaurant gave it a clean and airy feel. A few special deals were available, including a free pack of frozen dumplings to take home for orders of $70 or more.
