The ancient Greeks and Romans certainly liked a drink or three. In fact, we know more about alcohol and drinking in antiquity than about many other aspects of everyday life in ancient times.

Presented by Dr Gillian Shepherd, this free talk shows that drinking was a fundamental social activity, but intoxication led to all sorts of problems and bad behaviour. What were the ancient attitudes to being under the influence? Come and find out.
