I am an amateur writer living in the Northern suburbs of Adelaide looking to see where my writing can take me.

Looking for a fun and relaxing way to spend a Saturday or Sunday afternoon whilst keeping fit and active? Drummond Golf, one of the leading Australian retailers in golfing merchandise/services, has recently taken over a driving range facility on Tapleys Hill Road in West Beach. I recently took it upon myself to head down to check the place out and see what they were able to offer me, a curious amateur looking to have a bit of fun on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

West Beach Facility

The facility is easily located just off Tapleys Hill Road, opposite the Harbour Town shopping mall, and provides a more than suitable area for parking. Adorned with rich green grass and lavish garden beds, the West Beach driving range radiates a wonderfully serene atmosphere and great facilities welcoming both professional and amateur adults and children.

The facility consists of a 250m driving range, fronted by a dual-level tee-off area equipped with both automatic-tee-machines and stand alone regular tees. Drummond Golf offers state-of-the-art equipment and merchandise either for sale or for hire (catering for both adults and children). Prices are well within acceptable limits; their largest package of balls being 140 at just $17. The facility also offers refreshments to quench your thirst and an assortment of ice creams to keep those pesky kids happy. The staff members are very friendly and accommodating, and are quite willing to give you a few pointers free of charge to help improve your game or to simply start you off. They do also offer professional one-on-one coaching from accomplished golfers at reasonable rates. The facility is open 7 days a week from 8am to 9pm on weekdays, and to 7pm on weekends.

After you've worked up a healthy sweat and a bit of an appetite, why not nip across the road to the famous Harbour Town shopping precinct where a variety of fast-food restaurants and cafés are certain to have something that tickles your fancy.

All in all, a weekend trip to Drummond Golf's West Beach Driving Range, proves to be a fun, stress relieving and cost-effective way to spend an afternoon either with the kids, a few mates or on your own. You may even discover a hidden talent you knew nothing about!
