Drop everything, the day to live out your surfing music festival fantasies has come to town. The 2020 Drop Festival will be hosting talented musicians along with epic surfers as they cut the waves at Noosa and Coolangatta. Slap on the sunnies, SPF and grab your mates or the fam, as this uber-cool festival hits Noosa first later this month, followed by Coolangatta. For the first time this year, the festival will feature the Noosa Longboard Open and is a must for any surf enthusiast to catch. Later in March, The Drop Festival will follow the World Surfing League (WSL) to Snapper Rock at Coolangatta, as these talented surfers come to town.
Veteran surfer, winner of the 1978 World Surfing Championship and Coolangatta local, Wayne 'Rabbit' Bartholomew is the festival brainchild and organiser behind this new festival that is family-friendly and encourages the surfing and music culture to continue to co-exist, in the festival's third year. The musical talent set to entertain the masses later in February and March includes The Presets, Boy & Bear, Ball Park Music, Allday, DZ Deathrays, Kita Alexander and Grace. The good folks of The Drop Festival have ensured the festival is a safe festival with regular bus transfers available to catch up and around Noosa to and from the event. A similar situation is available at Coolangatta with a Park n Ride transfer option available.
The 2020 Drop Festival is at Dolphins Rugby Ground, 1 Bicentennial Dr, Sunshine Beach from 1pm on February 29th.
The festival will be held at Queen Elizabeth Park, Marine Parade, Coolangatta, from 1pm on March 28th.
