It was the revolution that had to happen. There has been a growing trend towards drive-in coffee spots and now a first in Australia --- you can drive through for a parma.

It is all happening at the Clarendon Hotel which is just opposite the Skilled football stadium in Geelong.

It's a pretty easy process. Phone through your order and arrive twenty minutes later -- drive through and be served with a piping hot serve of parma, chips and a side serve of salad.

The parma comes in a box just like your pizzas normally do.

There are ten different varieties. There is a traditional chicken
schnitzel topped with napoli, ham and cheese $12.90 or you can add other toppings such as avocado, shrimp and garlic sauce, chorizo, ham, bacon, pesto and bocconcini.

Then there are ethnic versions -- Italian with bolognaise sauce and cheese, Hawaiian with the expected pineapple, Mexican with jalapenos, capsicum, cheese and napoli, Spanish with mushroom, onion, chorizo, cheese and napoli, and Aussie with bacon, BBQ sauce and cheese, or you can just have a plain old schnitzel at $11.90.

There is a high novelty factor in buying a take home parma.

You see families driving through with kids in the pyjamas, groups of friends with late night munchies, busy parents too tired to cook and of course football fans either after the game or as take out to go home and watch the game.

Let's hope they start doing an eggplant parma for all the vegetarians out there. Because they have though of everything else.
