The five S's of sports training are: stamina, speed, strength, skill, and spirit; but the greatest of these is spirit. – Ken Doherty

All of these are certainly required for sport, but are also needed for performance arts as well in no less measure.

Drill, the next production at PICA 's Performance Space is an exploration of just that concept. Devised and directed by Ahilan Ratnamohan from an original idea devised during his residency at PICA a couple of years ago.

Ratnamohan studied at universities in Sydney and Amsterdam while honing his performance skills while earning a living as a professional footballer in Holland, Sweden and Germany.

Drill is the impact of three highly-trained athletes on each other when they meet in a late night training session. As well as the peak-fitness Ratnamohan the other actors/performers are former martial arts expert, sprinter, and rugby player Imanuel Dado and Arno Wauters, an acrobat and basketballer.

Drill runs at 7:30pm at the PICA Performance Space in the Perth Cultural Centre, James Street, Northbridge from February the 24th to the 27th.

Tickets cost $30 for a standard, $20 for Concession: $20 and may be booked by going Book online here , on the phone: 9228 6300 or in person at reception.
