This extraordinary Musical will provide you with a better understanding of intergenerational trauma experienced during times of war and conflict.

Eva de Jong-Duldig's critically acclaimed memoir 'Driftwood – escape and survival through art', which tells the inspirational story of the renowned Austrian/Australian sculptor Karl Duldig and his artist/inventor wife, Slawa Horowitz-Duldig has been adapted by a brilliant creative team into an outstanding musical.

The historical true story takes in this amazing couple's romantic and artistic lives in pre-war Vienna and Slawa's invention in 1929 of the Foldable Umbrella. This is truly a unique tale of heartache and bravery during the times of the Holocaust. The characters are expertly portrayed by each Actor, supported by exceptional music and a skillful creative team.

The audience will capture a snapshot of the turbulent journey which disconnected Karl and Slawa Duldig from family and community as they struggled across three continents to find a safe home.

The is an exceptional musical led by an incredible cast and creative team. This adaption has clearly done justice to such an amazing inspiring true story. I was totally in awe of the cast's talent and throughout the production, I felt my eyes sting with tears. I was extremely moved and reminded of the strength of the human spirit. I fully recommend you all attempt to see this fabulous production of an important historic story.
