Dress up for the charity that supports the homeless
The not-for-profit organisation "Night Ninjas" is a group of volunteers focused on helping people from all walks of life who are experiencing homelessness and those who are living close to the poverty line. Although at present their efforts are focused in The Redland City Bayside area, they are keen to expand their coverage as the organisation grows. Currently, there are thirty-seven active volunteers in The Redlands who contribute to approximately 150 hours each month.
Founder of Night Ninjas, Alix Russo knows first hand what it is like to be struggling and nowhere to go. Fortunately, at the time she was homeless she had support from friends who housed her and her two boys until she was able to find suitable accommodation. Through this experience, Alix wanted to return this assistance to others who are in the same situation. Alix logged onto Facebook and asked users if they knew of any hotspots in the area and she received over 1000 responses in three days. From that day Night Ninjas Inc. was formed.

Their long-term goal is to open a Community Drop-In Centre; however, in the meantime, they are able to give donations of clothing, blankets, food and other essentials to those in need.
If you are thinking you would like to be a volunteer, volunteers are required for roles in Cleveland and Capalaba on weeknights between 7.30pm and 10.30pm. All volunteers are required to undergo a Police Check and hold current CPR certificates. More information can be found on their website.
