As the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) prepares for the final days of their acclaimed
Hollywood Costume exhibition, ACMI Director and CEO, Tony Sweeney, has proudly announced their next endeavour; the world premiere of
DreamWorks Animation: The Exhibition.
This anticipated interactive exhibition celebrates 20 years of feature films produced by DreamWorks Animation and will showcase their much loved franchises
Shrek, Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda, Monsters vs. Aliens and
How to Train Your Dragon, alongside
The Prince of Egypt, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron,
Rise of the Guardians and this year's releases
The Croods and
Turbo.
DreamWorks Animation: The Exhibition is the first large-scale exhibition to be focused on the American animation studio which was founded by director and producer Steven Spielberg, music executive David Geffen, and former Disney executive Jeffrey Katzenberg in 1994 and will feature never before seen concept artwork, models, installations and specially commissioned interviews.
Chief creative officer of DreamWorks Animation, Bill Damaschke, who was in Australia for the announcement noted "[visitors to the exhibition] will get the sense of the over four years that it takes for us to make just one of our films".
The exhibition will be part of the 2014
Melbourne Winter Masterpieces program and will open on Thursday 10 April and run until Sunday 26 October 2014.
