Classic and contemporary artisan creations come together
Oh my dear sweet dreamers, the time has come around again for all your dreams to be fulfilled at this years Winter Dreamer's Market on Saturday the 20th of July at the Riverside Theatres, Parramatta. Since launching in Spring 2012, the Dreamer's Market has thrived, holding their unique, free to enjoy, artisan market as the seasons change.
With winter comes gusty winds, teeth-chatteringly low temperatures and the consumption of a whole lot of comfort food. It also brings along the beloved winter installment of the Dreamer's Market. This time around you'll find some of the steadfast stalls that are the building blocks of the market, as well as some new up and comers that are ready and raring to show off their authentic Australian handmade wares. The philosophy of the Dreamer's Market is to ensure this authenticity by carefully selecting only true artisans that bring all their own creations straight from their imagination into fruition with their own hands.
Some of the delights you will encounter at these markets are jewellery, clothing for big and small, candles, craft, art, cakes and cookies. If "cookies" has caught your attention, as it frequently does mine, then you might be interested in popping over to the Odie's Cookies stand. Odie's Cookies make gourmet homemade cookies, uniquely topped with some of our all time favourite chocolate treats, such as Tim Tams, Hershey Kisses, Reese's Pieces and Toblerone just to name a few. Dear me, I think I'm going to have to eat a cookie right now to tide me over till the markets just from thinking about all those good things.
If you're not a glutton like me, then maybe a little Candles and Silver by Heike will tickle your fancy. These beautiful bracelets, rings and necklaces are hand-crafted from silver and silver plated cutlery, some of which dates back to the 1940's. Most of the pieces are created with the design of 'Hildesheimer Rose' which is a very popular cutlery style from the 1920's. You will also find candles, solid perfume, lip balms and 'wooden things' at this little gem of a stall.
When you've had a bit of a sugar hit and selected some silver trinkets for yourself to take home, then maybe it's time to pick up something for the kids. C Percy Designs specialises in boutique crochet beanies that will be just perfect to keep the little tot's noggin warm at this chilly time of year. Or, if you have a different type of child of the canine variety to cater to, you can head over to My Name is Kiki for a special designer decoration to adorn your doggies collar.
The Dreamer's Market is a one-of-a-kind, light-bulb moment come to life. You'll be sure to see some unique, vibrant and incredibly crafted creations when you come down to the Winter Dreamer's Market between 9:30am and 2:30pm on Saturday 20th of July at Riverside Theatres, Parramatta.
