The Adelaide Festival Centre and Shandong Provincial Department of Culture presents Dream of the Ghost Story by Shandong Acrobatic Troupe as part of Adelaide's Oz Asia Festival. Running for two nights only this special event is at The Adelaide Festival Theatre on September 5th-6th.This spectacular acrobatic performance is fun for the whole family.

Dream of the Ghost Story was made famous by Mr Pu Song Ling and choreographed by Zhang Yi and Liu Xiaohe is based on the classic tale of Qing Dynasty Fable. It's the epic love story of a fox fairy who falls in love with a human scholar.

The young scholar (Shi Shuai) and the young fox fary (Wang Luyuan and Du Xiaoru) meet as children playing together and as we watch them grow up the evils that we are humans face everyday start to attach. The evil is presented through demons that use their forces to come between the two.

The Fox Fairy (Zhang Xu) and the scholar (Guo Qinglong) grow up, throughout the story ghosts are used as a metaphor for real life situations and the evil are the things that keep us from accomplishing them.

This production features in air acrobatic stunts with ropes and rings and amazing technique. It stuns the audience with baton twirling UV light illuminating dancing skeletons, sequenced skipping while juggling and back flipping, ring jumping amazement and some lucky guests even received a Chinese good luck charm from the cast.

The acrobatic love scene where the Fox Fairy (Zhang Xu) and the scholar (Guo Qinglong) spin and flip over each other in a ring in the air is a beautiful representation of love.

Featuring more than 50 performers reaching acrobatic heights, attempting dangerous stunts and pushing unthinkable boundaries. This spectacular performance is one not to be missed it's beautiful, breathtaking, jar dropping and incredible entertainment.
