More than just rides, Luna Park is launching a brand new attraction in the Big Top this December to reignite the love for the heritage-listed amusement park that opened back in 1935.
We all need some escapism from reality, especially in these times, and Dream Circus will immerse you in the enchanting wonder of the high-tech ‘Magic Box’. The multi-sensory experience has been put together by a local team of creatives and technicians that have worked on the likes of projects such as Vivid Sydney, Olympic Games Opening ceremonies and ABBA Voyage.
It’s the type of attraction that has world appeal, think Van Gogh Alive or Monet & Friends immersive visuals and sound but in keeping with the carnival theme of Luna Park. In Dream Circus, lovable characters take visitors on a dream-like adventure not only to the circus but also to the seaside, underwater and beyond.
Its narrative story is sure to appeal to young and old and, unlike the aforementioned immersive exhibitions that are projected onto flat wall surfaces, Dream Circus has been constructed as a theatre-like set with custom-designed 360-degree projections, motion-activated LEDs and hologram technology working with 3D, textured walls and stages. Furthermore, a spatially-mapped blockbuster audio system has you feeling the show unfolding around you.
Tickets for the 1hr long Dream Circus are on sale now and come in at a cost of $35 per child (13yrs & under) and $45 per adult. You can save $10 by purchasing an Unlimited Rides Pass in a combo with Dream Circus. Sessions run every 1.5hrs from 9am-9pm daily, unless otherwise advised. Seating is not allocated, you can stand or sit on the floor or in tiered seating. Food and beverages are available to purchase in the foyer of the Big Top. Both photography and videography are allowed so feel free to capture special moments of this world-first attraction that promises a journey like no other.
The cutting-edge captivating technology of Magic Box will continue on long after Dream Circus has played out its season. The venue will see further immersive experiences, along with never-before-seen immersive live music and special events. The Big Top site will also become a stage and training facility for future creatives with the state-of-the-art canvas allowing Australia’s development of the immersive industry.
With $15million invested in this new venture, Luna Park are going all out to bring amusement and awe into the digital age with this 21st Century thrill and it’s sure to be a success with Instagrammers and influencers alone looking for their next epic images.
