Draw 62 Animals and Make Them Cute, by Heegyum Kim, is a book designed to help amateur artists draw cartoon animals. I don't know why 62 is the magic number, but there are indeed 62 different animals featured in the book, including alpacas, kiwi, whales and giraffes. It's quite a broad selection of critters, and they are cute.

There is a step by step guide to drawing each animal, followed by a few examples of ways to draw it or extra features to add. Unfortunately, as with a lot of drawing books, the "step by step" guide part seems to leave out quite a lot of the steps. It's along the lines of- "step one, draw the head and eyes, step two add the body and limbs, step three, draw everything else". For this reason, I think this book would be frustrating for the total beginner, but it could be fun for someone who already enjoys drawing and doodling a bit.

Some of my attempts at drawing using the book.

Draw 62 Animals and Make Them Cute would be a fun gift for someone who likes drawing animals and wants to work on their character design.
