Held over the Queen's Birthday long weekend, the DramaFest is a chance for theatre companies all over Perth to 'strut their stuff' with entries of one act plays, none of which go for more than 40 minutes in length. It's a good way for new directors to get a chance to perform to an audience with a play nowhere near as demanding as a full length, with a possibility of walking away with some awards for their effort.
This year's WA State DramaFest is being held at The Old Mill Theatre in South Perth and is been adjudicated by Jenny McNae OAM. The three sessions of play are Friday the 27th September at 8pm and Saturday the 28th of September at 1pm and 7pm, tickets are available at the venue.
So if you'd like to see locally produced theatre, or just want to 'wet your feet' in the theatre scene, then the WA State DramaFest might be what you are looking for.
