Dracula's is a spooky Cabaret Restaurant located in both Broadbeach on the Gold Coast and Carlton in Melbourne. It is an exceptionally unique one night experience, including burlesque, music, comedy and quality dining, all in the one venue.
The creepy atmosphere begins as soon as you drive into the car park. Dressed as vampires, the staff are waiting outside for their victims, guiding them into their house of horrors. Inside, you are led to the cocktail bar and lounge where you are encouraged to mingle with the dead. Then, it is time to make your way to the theatre for dinner. In true Dracula's style, a ghost train is the only path so hop on board for a few extra scares but don't forget to say 'cheese'.
The three course meal was prompt and delicious and includes their signature dessert 'Death by Chocolate'. Our vampire waitress stayed in true character throughout the night, nicknaming our sober driver 'Mr Boring' because of his non-alcoholic drinks. When we were undecided on our dinner choices, she informed us: "I'll be bringing the chainsaw if you are still undecided when I return". A little rude, but what can you expect from the dead?
The show itself was horror style comedy with renditions of popular music and fantastic light effects. There were deceased puppets, gory magic and disturbing comedy skits.
When booking, there are two options for the night - normal or V.I.P. V.I.P treatment includes a free glass of champagne and finger food. It also includes the upstairs dining which are the best seats for the show. And you leave with a Dracula's gift bag.
For extra fun, get a group of friends or family together and dress up as your favourite horror film characters. It definitely enhances the mood.
