The Adelaide Festival Centre presents a Shake & Stir Theatre Co production of 'Dracula' at The Space Theatre from September 7th until 12th. It's based on the 1897 gothic horror novel by Bram Stoker.
Dracula is the story of Jonathan Harker, who stumbles upon Dracula's castle all by mistake, although Dracula thinks the timing is perfect. The story is centered around his attempt to move from Transylvania to England in hope of finding new blood. Jonathon quickly discovers not only that Dracula is very welcoming to having Jonathon join him for dinner, but that he is actually the main course.
Beyond the dinner party, Dracula travels to London on a quest to spread the undead curse by sucking the life out of Lucy Weston and turning her into a vampire. Dracula finds an interest in Jonathon's fiance Mina, who calls for the help of Professor Van Helsing when her health starts deteriorating.
The Professor realises Dracula is a vampire and from there the battle between Dracula and vampire hunter, Professor Abraham Van Helsing, ensues.
