Rethink all your ideas about life drawing art classes and say hello to Dr Sketchy. Originating in Brooklyn, NYC in 2005, this popular life-drawing class has since spread to over 150 cities worldwide including Sydney. The founder, Molly Crabapple, is a former artist's model and started Dr Sketchys Anti-Art School when she was just 22. She never imagined how far and wide her idea would travel.
Held fortnightly (Tuesdays) at the Arthouse Hotel in Sydney, this is not your normal life drawing art class. Dr Sketchys is what happens when cabaret meets art and is one art class your boyfriend or husband wont mind coming along too. The models are burlesque beauties and circus performers who are ready to pose and perform for you, providing a different theme every fortnight.
The Hooping Harlet and Spinjoy will be there Tuesday 29th August
Whatever your level of artistic skill, whether coming alone or in a group, this is guaranteed to be one of the most entertaining art classes you will ever attend. There are live performances, comedy skits, cosy chesterfield couches to sink into and an enthusiastic MC encouraging audience participation. Guaranteed fun and laughs.
