We stumbled across Dr Morse walking back from an event in Collingwood. It was early on a Saturday evening, but the front bar area was pretty busy, so we wandered in and pulled up a table.

A quick scan of the Asian BBQ inspired food menu, we order a few of the vegetarian options. Edamame, Roti, Tofu and Pumpkin dishes. Dishes would come out as they were ready, so we order drinks in the meantime.

I order A Mandarin Hug 'N' Kiss cocktail - made with Amaro Montenegro, Cocchi Americano, Prosecco, Mandarin, Thyme and Lemon it was lively and zesty, if not a little watered down for my hardened drinking palate. My companion ordered a glass of Shiraz.

Our Edamame came out first - leaving our lips and fingers covered with a moreish combination of salty and spicy dust.

The Tofu was next, slightly BBQ'ed on the outside and medium firm on the inside. The so called 'yellow curry' sauce was delicious but was suspiciously similar to satay - which was actually perfect when the fresh, warm roti bread arrived so we could mop up every last mouthwatering drop...

My only concern - had we not ordered the Tofu, the roti would have been sitting on the plate feeling lonely...

Finally, the Pumpkin arrived. Literally the biggest slice of pumpkin on a plate I have ever seen. Covered in dukka and BBQ'ed it too was delicious. Slightly charred on the outside, soft and smooth in the middle - I can't really complain. But it was a slightly odd sight at first.

The front eating area was quickly filling up by this point, a group of 6 to our left and a group of 4 to our right. Finishing out drinks and meals, we paid the bill and slipped out the front door as quietly as we had arrived.

Feeling surprisingly full and satisfied despite the modest amount of food, and agreeing that we would be happy to return. The service was quick and friendly, prices were reasonable and the atmosphere relaxed.

We didn't get to venture out the back to the courtyard, where the BBQ'\s were obviously keeping everyone warm... but that just means that we have another excuse to come back!
