This Australian made film is meant to be a black comedy set during the aftermath of the Cronulla riots. These race riots occurred in December 2005 in Sydney in the beachside suburb of Cronula where gangs of young Australian men fought with gangs of young Lebanese men. The riots continued for several days before calm was restored.



This film which opens with actual footage of the real riots continues with the storyline following two carloads of hotheads from both sides of the fight destined to collide.

Though both sides are sincere in their intents, this quickly gives way to farcical ineptitude as this poignant story of ignorance, fear and kebab-cravings unfolds. What was meant to be a retaliation mission turns into something neither side could have imagined.

There is a lot of senseless violence in this film and while the Aussie youths are portrayed as brain dead bogans with no intelligence at all, the youths on the other side are seen as defending their bit of Aussie turf.

This film is confronting and does nothing to showcase the true Aussie spirit of giving everyone a fair go. Though this is a bold film to discuss racism while trying to make it entertaining as well, it will only appeal to a small audience.

Running time is 90 minutes and is for mature audiences only.
