Places to shop in Melbourne appear to pop up overnight, hence my surprise when the Downtown Revolution window items caught my eye. This funky shop certainly has its own distinct sense of style on offer. As an occasional participant of the Gothic culture in Melbourne, I would definitely say there are more than few articles of clothing that would suit the dark nightclub environment.

Prices for accessories, shoes, and clothing begin around $20 while some of the more elaborate dresses can cost around $269. Clothing at this hot spot includes items such as corsets (in a range of colours and sizes); red sailor-style dresses; gowns with laces criss-crossing around the back; cute skirts with bows and trimmed with lace, simple sexy/girly tops; and belts that come with hip metal studs. I found my eyes kept drawing back to the fabulous selection of shoes, particularly to large platform boots with black straps.

This shop has more than just clothing; it also has interesting objects such as a large metal tea pot, a wallet with a skull pattern, and beautifully crafted chalices. Whether you are looking for a gift or spoiling yourself this Downtown Revolution seems to have something for those with a sense of adventure and a

definitely…a bit of daring. You would not have to go all out and dress-up for head-to-toe; one or two articles could easily complement your own fashion style.

This store may not be to everyone's taste, but if you are curious about something with a fun kinky edge, then there is no harm in having a look. The shop does cater more to ladies, but there may be some shoes and accessories that males who go for the alternative look may want to go and pick up.
