A new addition to the fabulous wineries of McLaren Vale is Down the Rabbit Hole - strange name, super wines. To discover the wines, use your imagination and go exploring! There is no permanent cellar door, so the wines are being introduced via a series of pop-up events in Adelaide, offering a unique experience with fine wines, food and music.
The next cellar door pop-up will be on the weekend of September 4-6th, with a Spanish theme, in keeping with the luscious Tempranillo produced by winemaker Walter Clappis. Owners Domenic Palumbo and Elise Cook have been scouring the neighbourhood for accessories to ensure 'Boho Barcelona' will recreate the atmosphere of the bohemian pintxos bars in the streets of Barcelona and the lively party will go on for 2 nights, with bands, DJs, dancers, food and wine - with Sunday being a day to recover, with a relaxing acoustic session. Check out the event Facebook page.
The venue is The Producers' Hotel in Grenfell Street, (with an entrance via a secret rabbit hole, of course) and tickets are $25 prebooked for each party night and $5 at the door on Sunday. Tickets for the Friday and Saturday nights will be available online on Friday 27th August - and be warned, for the inaugural event in May, the tickets sold out within 2 minutes! Ticket price includes entry, complimentary tastings and a $30 Uber ride to or from the event.
