A favourite with so many south-siders, the Doveton Show brings all the fun of the Melbourne Show into the suburbs for a fraction of the cost. Being held this year on Sunday 24th September, entry is only $1 or $5 for a family of six. The Doveton Show is held at the Myuna Farm in Doveton.

It's hard to imagine a 'show' set in the suburbs being so it big it attracts close to 30,000 people each year. This huge turnout is surely a testament to the popularity and success of the Doveton Show, which continues to grow each and every year. Run by local businesses and volunteers and supported by the City of Casey, the Doveton Show provides the perfect, low-cost alternative to the much larger, similarly styled, Melbourne Show.

In true 'show' style there are animals, and kids can make some new cute and furry friends in the animal nursery before having their face painted to match their favourite new friend, then hop upon one of the carnival rides, there'll be something suited to fun-lovers of all ages. Some of the rides may include the Cup & Saucer to the jumping castle and giant slide, Cha Cha and Hurricane, dodgem cars, bunjee trampoline and petrol powered Jeeps. Thrill rides priced at $6 each or 4 rides for $20. Family rides are $3 each or 4 for $10 (Please note: Prices may be subject to change or may differ on privately operated rides).[BREAK]
Kids can also participate in some free activities organised by YMCA Gymnastics, craft courtesy of Bunnings, zip-lining with the Hallam Cobras Softball team, wood burning and reptile display with the Eummemering Scounts, story times with Casey Cardinia Library, colours and free showbags thanks to Paul Sadler Swimland and participate in some free environment activities, dolphin research or make some trash puppets with helpers from the City of Casey.

The market section of the show accompanies community group displays and exhibitions, activities, live entertainment and quite a few competitions. Find plants and toys, vehicle displays and much more. If you would like to be part of this event as a stallholder, please visit the Doveton Show website by following the link here.

The main stage offers an entertaining line-up of live musical and assorted acts, but at the time of writing the performers list had not been released.

No show is complete without a staggering selection of showbags, sweets and treats to enjoy along the way, from fairy floss to popcorn and plenty more. Food vendors will be serving a selection of hot and cold lunch and afternoon tea options, along with coffee and drinks. Guests are welcome to bring along a picnic or purchase something there.

The is being held on Sunday 24th September from 10am to 4pm at the Myuna Farm, 182 Kidds Road, Doveton. There is limited onsite parking and surrounding street parking. Please anticipate some walking to and from this event.

Myuna Farm is a community farm open every day of the year from 10am to 4pm. Accessible to everyone, the farm was designed to preserve some of the agricultural history from the City of Casey and provide the community with an opportunity to come in contact with a range of large and small farm animals. The farm also provides a number of educational services, along with train and pony rides as well as being a fun, family day trip destination.

Entry to the farm on non-show days is $8 for singles, $7 concession and $28 for a family of four. Train and pony rides are an additional $3 and City of Casey residents can also enjoy an annual family membership. Find out more about Myuna Farm on the City of Casey website here.
