Chill out in a cool place
Master chefs are the new Hollywood celebrities.

Dove and Olive, formerly known as the Clarendon Hotel in Surry Hills recently went through a grand makeover with their branding, interior fit out and new menu delights that will knock your pub socks off.

Emerging as one of the coolest and hippest Sydney hotels, serving some of the finest hotel meals around.
Light and tasty salt and pepper calamari

We popped in for a quick lunch one Saturday after some serious shopping around Sydney. We were so delighted with the casual and cheery surrounds, we ended up staying a lot longer than expected.

Scanning the menu, we ordered the Salt and Pepper Calamari and Crispy Skin Salmon, a great light lunch. The calamari was light and delicately seasoned without that heavy, oily coating some places cook this dish, at the end I wanted more. My friend's salmon was so well cooked all the way through, yet still moist. Guys would probable have to order a side dish of chips or bread to fill them up, but we found it a good sized meal for gals.

We began sitting inside at one of their cosy tables, then spotted the outside courtyard, so we moved, much to the waitress' confusion. Yes, we forgot to tell her.

Engaging internationally acclaimed Jason Roberts to create exciting dishes at affordable pub prices. Raising the standards of the old traditional pub for females and males alike to enjoy. It's more like a casual restaurant with a bar.

In addition to their regular menu they have a daily blackboard 'Chef's Selection' and each day is themed with a $12.50 special.

Monday: Orecciette pasta with mint pea and goat's curd.
Tuesday: Parmy with eggplant smoked Mozzarella and hand cut potatoes.
Wednesday: Great Pork Sliders with onion rings.
Thursday: Time to dig into a Burger with chips and relish.
Friday: Kick back with delicious Salt & Pepper Calamari.
Saturday:Your all time hand food, Pizza.
Sunday: A traditional favourite Roast meal with seasonable vegetables.

So if you don't like cooking, or could not be bothered, tuck into a delicious meal each night with your included drink and head home happy and relaxed.

The staff told me they will be introducing some $5 meals when the weather begins to warm up. Looking forward to seeing what they come up with and of course tasting.

Ask about their drink specials. Mojitos 2 for 1 offer. They also have a good selection of wines to chill with your meal.

A great place to spend some time with friends, as it's not too noisy unlike regular pubs. Grab one of the cosy tables or nooks downstairs for a social time or relax in the courtyard with friends and chat the night away. Or pop in on Sundays, for an afternoon of live jazz music and cruise the afternoon away.
