Step back in time to the fabulous 50s! Doughbox Diner is the place to be. I just happened to be seeing a show at the Enmore Theatre and glanced across the road. Doughbox Diner was pumping out the 50s music and it was jam-packed with toe tapping patrons loving the 50s feel.

The decor is american 50's eccentric, retro and all things vintage. Plenty of 50's memorabilia to please the eye. All your favourite old movie stars will be found here along the wall, Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor just to name a few.

You would expect a diner like this to only serve Burgers and Milkshakes but owners George and Fiona have created something unique with their crepe cones and it was easy to see it is a popular destination in Enmore.

Diner Dolls serve you in their cute ice-cream parlour style outfits. The owner Fiona has nailed the vintage glamour look to perfection. Stunningly beautiful, so feminine just like a movie star herself.

The menu offers a selection of their famous crepes either savoury or sweet, waffles, milkshakes all things delicious.

Doughbox crepes are unlike any crepes you would of tasted before. George was a baker for 18 years and he has perfected his recipe batter. The crepes are light and crispy, totally heaven to taste. George is Greek and back in Greece they make crepes differently to other countries. These crepes are an art in the making, the exact spread of secret ingredients batter, cooked to perfection and folded gently - they are then offered to you in a paper cone support. The fillings range from traditional savoury fillings like Meat Lovers, Ham and Pineapple, Avocado Bite, Greek style Kofte, Vego $12 - $14 each or sweet sensations filled with Chocolate Hazelnut concoctions $9 -$14 each. You can also order Gluten Free if required.

You could really gain a few kilos here but true to the 50s era, most would get up and do some rock n roll or stroll along ending in a Lindy Hop. The music really makes for a fun lively atmosphere and you might just have to pop up and do a little hop and spin. Check out this old video clip and you will agree they sure had fun dancing back then!

This is a definite venue to put on your list as where to grab a bite in Enmore especially if you happen to be seeing a show at the Enmore Theatre. Ideal for before or after the show depending if you want dinner or dessert or why not try both! Check it out!
