Mawson Lakes has recently been selected as the location of DoughBalls' second restaurant after their first opening in Glenelg. Feeling peckish one Tuesday morning, we decided to give this new pizza place on Victoria Parade a try. It was just a week or so since the launch of their $10 weekday lunch offer which included options such as light pizzas, lunch-size pastas and salad. Also available from Monday to Friday, until 4pm each day, was a $10 dessert and coffee offer featuring their signature DoughBalls.
Straight after checking-in with the QR code, we were warmly greeted by one of their serving staff. Her friendly smile could be seen through her eyes as she was wearing a mask. We were shown to a table where the menus had been neatly laid out. The restaurant delivered a casual comfortable environment for our impromptu lunch outing.
We ordered the cajun chicken pizza lite as well as the lamington DoughBalls dessert to share between the two of us. There was quite a selection of dishes to choose from and we'll be back one day to try some of the others. Our pizza had chicken, roasted capsicum, red onion and mozzarella on a ring of dough. Yes, that's right, there was a "hole" in the middle of the ring base, and that hole was filled with a serve of fresh salad! Our DoughBalls were literally warm balls of dough, topped with raspberry coulis, chocolate fudge sauce and coconut flakes. A scoop of vanilla ice cream was served alongside the balls too. My friend also had a cup of coffee which was very generous in size. Plus, unlimited refills were available at no extra cost.
DoughBalls Mawson Lakes is open every day from 11am to 9pm. Do check them out next time you're in the vicinity. There's full table service, so you don't have to worry about lining up to order, especially if the young ones are with you. They have been known to be a family-friendly restaurant.
