I'll gladly spend double the time at Double Take Cafe

My husband and I found Double Take Cafe while walking the dog and looking for a place to eat breakfast. We wanted a lovely outdoor setting, where we could be out in the fresh air and where our dog could join us at our meal and Double Take Cafe was just what we were looking for. The tables were set amongst fig trees, which shaded us from the worst of the heat and the lake could just be seen from across the road.

First Impressions

The cafe seemed popular, with lots of lively conversations going on around us and there was a menu on the table to browse through.

The first thing I noticed was the prices which were on the upper end of the scale and there were really no cheap alternatives or kid friendly choices. I was too comfortable in the shade to leave however and was willing for the food to prove itself.

The Drinks
Firstly our drinks were served. Wanting to try something different I tried a chocolate swirl. I was given some frothy milk, with some chocolate mixed in and then white chocolate shaped like a cupcake attached to a spoon. I loved the concept and felt very sophisticated swirling my chocolate cupcake in my drink.

The Meal
When the meals came out, I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the portion. My eggs were well done and I loved the herb bread and the tomatoes that came with them. Everything was fresh and tasty and it was very filling.

Poached Eggs and Full Breakfast

I would recommend Double Take Cafe as a good place to go if you want to eat in a nice setting for a date or a catch up.
