The one thing I miss the most about travelling through India is the food. Not only was it so delicious, but so cheap as well! While we do have a lot of Indian restaurants in Sydney, somehow, the flavours just don't seem the same. That's why I was so thrilled when Dosa Plaza opened in Sydney – finally, a place where I can get great Indian food, at takeaway prices!
Dosa Plaza is an Indian franchise that specializes in serving 27 different kinds of dosas. For those that have never tried it, a dosa is similar to a crepe, and can be eaten plain or with a variety of fillings. Dosa Plaza not only creates dosas in flavours from around the world (think Chinese and Mexican), but also a variety of other foods such as pasta, curries and Chinese-fusion dishes to suit all taste buds.
Dosa Plaza is entirely vegetarian, with several vegan and Jain dishes on the menu. While those words may not sound appealing to a lot of people, the food is delicious! There is a great range of curries, Indian and Chinese dishes, and of course, dosas. As the menu is quite extensive, and there are so many things you'll want to try, I'd recommend going with a group of friends, and ordering a range of different dishes to share. That way, you can try one thing from each of the different sections of the menu.
If you're going for lunch, the normal menu is not available, however you can have all-you-can-eat for $11. The selection includes one entrée, two curries, rice and a dessert.
Dosa Plaza is a great place to meet friends for a meal that is not only tasty, but (relatively) healthy. Furthermore, considering how many great dishes there are for under $20, its easy on your wallet as well. So, if you're looking to try some Indian dishes you haven't tried before, head to Dosa Plaza!
