I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.

Dorrigo National Park is a short and scenic one hour drive up Waterfall Way from Coffs Harbour. It becomes very busy during school holidays with families taking a day trip from the coast.

The park is for day use only so there are no camping sites but has excellent visitor facilities. The wheelchair-accessible
Skywalk Lookout provides easy access to views of the World Heritage-listed Gondwana rainforest canopy. The entrance to the park is via sealed roads that are suitable for 2WD cars and there is plenty of free parking. There is wireless internet available at the information centre and the cafe, toilet amenities can be found in various points through the park as are barbecues, picnic areas and drinking water.

The facilities include
The Canopy Cafe which is located at
The Dorrigo Rainforest Centre. The Rainforest Centre is the hub for tourist information as well as an exhibition space displaying art and exhibits about wildlife and the natural environment. Books, clothing, gifts, postcards and souvenirs can be purchased here.

There are some easy but very interesting
walks in the park that are great fun for as well as educational for families. How often do you get the chance to get up close and personal with a
waterfall?

Walking in the rainforest gives you the opportunity to get close to nature, in summer the air is cooler ha the surroundings and the sky is shaded. In spring, take advantage of the accessible
Walk With The Birds Boardwalk to spot or at least hear some of the 150 species of birds that live here.
